MY FRIEND GOES TO MAUI AND
GIVES ME A CARD WITH A
HUMMINGBIRD ON IT.
SEARCHING FOR A PLACE ON MY
WALL, I TUCK IT NEXT TO THE
WOLFWOMAN SHAMAN.
ON A JULY, 1998 MORNING
I AWAKEN,
LOOK UP
AND SEE
THE TWO
PICTURES
AND
KNOW...

WOLF WAS,

IS ME;

AND NOW

WE LIVE TOGETHER!

TWO CUBS

LILA AND SIFU

WOLF MEDICINE.

THE GREAT
WISDOM
OF MY
OWL TOTEM
HAS BEEN IN
AND AROUND ME,
EVINCING
THROUGH A TEACHER
AND
THE CONSTANT SOUND

OF
MOURNING DOVE
REMINDING,
THOUGH NO
OWL HAS FOUND
REFUGE
NEAR MY HOME
FOR DECADES OR CENTURIES, WHO KNOWS?

THEN
IT IS NO
LONGER
THE DOVE THAT
I AWAKEN TO.
THE CARDINAL
HERALDS THE DAY.

THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE.
UNTIL AT LAST
THE EAGLE
HAD ENTERED
WITH FULL IMPACT
AS A GREAT TEACHER WALKS
THE GREAT PATH
OF CHANGE.
EAGLE MEDICINE
BEGINS TO SURFACE
AND
BE KNOWN TO ME...
DOUBTS
FALL AWAY.
IT IS TIME FOR
THE WOLF.

The name PineWolf Healer manifested when I was dealing with Basal Cell Cancer. I felt so alone and compromised; I turned to some trees as I so often do, that were in the parking lot I pulled into...or is it that they Called me? I walked under the Pine Trees, touched them and immediately felt the tranquility of their Stand for Life. My Being was permeated with New Breath, and Knowing that everything happens in its own time and for its own Reasons. When we want Life, Life will Honor us and infuse us with the strength and empowerment to go on.

The Totem of Wolf whispered to me under those trees:

"PineWolf Healer...PineWolf Healer."

As happens in those moments; I was taken aback; "What does that mean?" As I walked inside the Health Food Store and shopped; as I drove home..."PineWolf Healer" called to me. I adopted the name and knew that I have a Guardian Angel that was Attentive and Calling to me to do my best and hang in there for my Life and the

Reverence for All Life.
